Hypertension

Hypertension (HTN) is the "Silent Killer".  Most patients have no symptoms of their hypertension until their first heart attack or stroke.  High Blood Pressure (BP) also causes microvascular damage that affects the kidneys, eyes, and brain.

At Up 2 Par we aggressively diagnose and treat hypertension.  HTN is defined as BP> 135/85.  Diet and exercise are the first lines of treatment and when medications are used the goal is 120/70.  When we treat BP we treat to GOOD, not better.  The average patient with HTN is on four medications and is NOT treated to goal - we believe we can do better than average.
